Poor field position and fatigue take their toll on Browns in fourth quarter.
TAMPA, Fla. -- Observations, opinions and some facts on fourth quarter ...
• Fourth wildcat play just before the change in periods: Josh Cribbs takes direct snap and runs for no gain. OK, time to move on.
• Look out. Josh Freeman is starting to make the throws. Browns' rush may be tiring. Fatigue will be a factor to the finish.
• Third-and-5 from Browns' 49. A really big play for Browns' defense to get off the field and catch a breather. T.J. Ward comes on a sack and trips up Freeman for the sack. Marcus Benard also there. No matter how this ends up, that, folks, was a big play. Last year, Browns allow a big completion there.
• Browns want no part of throwing inside their 10. They hand off three times to Jerome Harrison and have to punt. After the punt and 11-yard return, Bucs take over at Browns' 47 with 8:36 left.
• On third down, the Browns' rush evaporates. Freeman completes a 14-yard pass to Sammie Stroughter. On the next play, Freeman misses Mike Williams wide open inside the 5 on the left sideline. Whew.
• Then, on third down again, the Browns' blitz was late and Freeman beat single coverage of Joe Haden on Micheal Spurlock for a 33-yard TD. Bucs take their first lead, 17-14, with 6:45 to go.
• Josh Cribbs comes up five yards deep in the end zone with the kickoff. Play blows up on Marcus Benard holding call. First down at Browns 6.
• Will Browns try to jam ball down Bucs' throats? They come out throwing, but Delhomme's pass for Brian Robiskie is broken up by E.J. Biggers. First play by him after a rough outing. Then Delhomme throws incomplete for Benjamin Watson.On third down, Delhomme throws short for Mohamed Massaquoi and Biggers intercepts. Biggers. Again.
• Carnell Williams' 20-yard run takes it to Browns' 11. If they punch it in, it's over. Browns are spent.
• In a jumbo formation, Earnet Graham is stacked up and fumbles inside the 5. Eric Barton recovers with 2:17 to go.
• From the 3, Browns start their third straight possession inside the 10.
• Now the rain decides to fall again. Great.
• Browns look incapable of making a play. Pass protection failing. Delhomme in trouble. It comes down to fourth-and-4 from the 19. False start, Floyd Womack. Make that fourth-and-9 from the 14. Delhomme incompletion for Chansi Stuckey.
• Bucs go four and out and give Browns one last chance. Delhomme nearly has Robiskie deep on the left sideline, but Robiskie can't keep second foot in-bounds. Moore catches a pass over the middle to get to the 30, but clock is ticking. After a spike, Delhomme's pass to Stuckey is the last play when Stuckey can't get to the sideline.
