Appearing as a co-host on ESPN Radio's "Mike and Mike in the Morning," Toronto star Bosh said what James does with free agency this summer will affect the plans of Bosh and other top free agents. Bosh said he has "no idea" what James will do.
There's Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat and Chris Bosh of the Toronto Raptors. The Atlanta Hawks' Joe Johnson and, too, Amar'e Stoudemire of the Phoenix Suns.
Dirk Nowitzki, whom everyone believes will re-sign with the Dallas Mavericks. A bunch of other guys, too.
Premier free agents, to be sure, some of them franchise-changers.
But most will stand in line waiting to see what the NBA's 2009 and 2010 MVP, LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers, will do before they act on their own futures.
That, according to Bosh, who today co-hosted ESPN Radio's "Mike and Mike in the Morning."
(Bosh) will be waiting to see what decision Cleveland's two-time MVP makes about his future.
"Am I waiting on LeBron? Pretty much," Bosh said. "I think everyone has to. I have to as well."
And while he offered no hints about his own future, Bosh believes what James does could affect everything else that goes on this summer.
"He's a great player and I would be crazy to think that all the teams that are considering him, they would talk to somebody else first," Bosh said. "I think everybody is going to be going at him first."
Bosh said on the show that he hasn't talked recently with any other top free agents, but indicated he will talk with James at some time. ESPN.com's report also includes:
James has been tightlipped about all things related to this summer, and Bosh doesn't have any insight into his thinking either.
"I really, honestly have no idea," Bosh said. "I think he's a very business-savvy guy that wants to win a championship, so he's looking at everything from each aspect. He wants to win, but at the same time, he wants to maintain his presence in the NBA market and really the athletic market around the world because he's one of the household names."
