The Browns added another offensive lineman to their stable, Boardman, O. native Steve Vallos.CLEVELAND -- The Browns were awarded former Seahawks center Steve Vallos via waivers today and terminated the contract of offensive lineman Billy Yates to make room.
Vallos, a Boardman, O. native and graduate of Boardman High, was originally a seventh-round pick of the Seahawks in 2007 out of Wake Forest. He played in 16 games for the Seahawks over the past two seasons, starting three last season and five in 2008. He played under current Browns president and former Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren in 2008.
Vallos (6-3, 312) can play both guard and center. He's expected to be on the practice field for the first time on Wednesday.
