Browns rookie quarterback married college sweetheart Rachel Glandorf on Saturday, prompting star receiver Jordan Shipley and friends to write a song about McCoy and perform it at the newlyweds' reception.
Cleveland, Ohio -- Rookie Browns quarterback Colt McCoy will probably have to sing before his new Cleveland teammates some time during training camp as part of the traditional rookie orientation.
McCoy, from the University of Texas, and his college sweetheart, Baylor University track athlete Rachel Glandorf, were married on Saturday, as reported by Nate Jones of Time NewsFeed. To celebrate the occasion, Jordan Shipley -- McCoy's favorite receiver with the Longhorns and now a Cincinnati Bengals rookie -- and some friends fashioned a country and western song to the theme of "When I grow up I want to be just like Colt McCoy."
Would we put it past the Browns veterans to make McCoy warble that ditty instead of his Texas alma mater? Here, from TMZ.com, is a video of McCoy's friends singing to him and his bride.
The upstart country stars couldn't resist a reference in their song to former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, a fellow rookie drafted by the Denver Broncos in the first round -- two rounds ahead of where the Browns tabbed McCoy.
A video follows of Rachel introducing a news segment on Texas football, including an interview with McCoy, for an Austin television station:
