Miami Herald reports Potamkin as saying there has "been no contact between me and (James)," and that he does not plan to sell. A magazine reported last week that James was on the verge of buying the near-$50 million estate.
The Miami Herald is reporting that LeBron James is not buying the Coral Gables, Fla. mansion owned by auto tycoon Alan Potamkin.
Life and Style Magazine claimed last week that James was on the verge of purchasing the eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom estate that has a value, according to the magazine, of $49.5 million.
James left the Cleveland Cavaliers as a free agent on July 8 to sign with the Miami Heat. Life and Style reported that Heat president Pat Riley once lived in the mansion.
Toluse Olorunnipa writes for the Miami Herald:
"There's been no contact between me and (James)," Potamkin told The Miami Herald. "I went through a divorce and put the home on the market about a year and a half ago, and delisted it about four months ago."
Potamkin said he has no intention of selling the waterfront property in Gables Estates, which has 20,088 feet of living space, and was one of the highest-priced homes in Miami-Dade County while it was listed.
